This class breaks the classic (circular) mold for pattern spinning. In this class, I’ll ensure a student’s understanding of “The Grid,” as well as teach a multitude of conventions to transition between different points/positions on the grid. The majority of this class will be taught on wall plane to convey these concepts in the most foundational form. Using IVA, students will venture onto different planes to create related concepts. Some of the “conventions” I’ll be covering will be the use of point isolation, slides, elevators, head taps, isolation lines, and contact ideas. The class will include an agenda of priorities to consider while perfecting an aesthetic. Some focuses will be:         “Firmness” Aesthetic of Prop         Haltedness upon arriving at a position         Charlie’s 9 Square theory application         General Crispness I hope to see each student walk away playing with and effectively exploring the ‘right’ side of pattern spinning.
