My favorite trick has been the air-wrap since my first month of spinning poi. What makes it so cool to me is the fact that it took me 8 frustrating hours of raw concentration to learn. I feel I’ve analyzed every aspect of the air-wrap in depth. I’m very interested in sharing those observations! The class will break down the air-wrap to the foundational function. This will helps students to either execute the move for their first time, or clean up an already existent air-wrap. After getting everyone up to speed with clean, crisp air-wraps, we will begin finding different places to utilize the function of the air-wrap. In the course of this class I hope to enlighten students about every air-wrap I know of, as well as have a brainstorming discussion to find even more variations and movements collectively.

Chi Rolls are quite possibly the most used trick in Dragon. In this class we will go over the eight core Chi Rolls. The first part of understanding all the possibilities are knowing In Spin rolls and Anti spin rolls which is knowing the relations of the staff to the spines while rolling. When the Spines are going with the staff it is In spin and when they are going against the staff they are Anti and then there's understanding when your doing neither. After that we'll Go over Isolations and extensions which are important keys to starting certain moves correctly. Being a mirror of each other, the Isolation is the action of keeping the staff completely still while in rolling motion. Extensions are the same in the static nature while simply pushing out to your left and your right. After all that we'll go over everything in reverse! Which will give a full spectrum of Chi to bond you and your Dragon together even more.
The main focus of this workshop will be exploring different ways to use I-Relation manipulating fans/hoops like double staves. Implementing concepts from the grid, going over terminology, and creating all the shapes!
